Abstract

Dr. Lucia Zurita obtained her Doctor of Surgery and Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the Central University of Ecuador, has a Master's Degree in Clinical Microbiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and completed her Fellowship in clinical microbiology at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation of Madrid, at the Clínica de la Concepción in Spain. She is currently an assistant professor in clinical microbiology at the College of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, and is Head of the Microbiology service at Laboratorios Zurita & Zurita, in Quito, Ecuador.
